(Moral and Legal) Agency and Responsibility

This cluster focuses on moral and legal agency and responsibility of both human and non-human entities. Relevant questions are how different legal fields (from private to international law) conceptualise agency and responsibility, how agency/responsibility-attributions are justified, what the relationship between moral and legal conceptions are, and how insights from the cognitive sciences can and should inform or transform these concepts.

The purpose of this cluster is to create a scholarly community around the research team of the cluster with a view to building formal and informal relationships, facilitating collaboration for present and future research projects, and creating platforms for a free exchange of ideas. The cluster will organise regular seminars.

Scholars working on problems of agency and responsibility from an interdisciplinary perspective are welcome to contact Daniel On [daniel.on@maastrichtuniversity.nl] and Antonia Waltermann [antonia.waltermann@maastrichtuniversity.nl] to join the cluster.
